O what a wonderful day

I almost couldn't believe in it anymore, but now it happend: we have some snow in Salzburg! This is maybe the best news we can imagine. I hope I will be able to do some snowboarding in the next weeks!
Also my club can be very happy with the low temperatures and the snow. A Ski-JWOC without snow wouldn't be that good....

What happend in my live?
As always nothing special except a short trip to Bozen (South Tyrol, Italy) last week. I played a concert with the carinthian military music band - unfortunately just a few people listened to it. The italians don't seem to be the best in promoting there events and festivals *g*. Anyway it was better than staying in Salzburg!

Oh god, my english is getting worse and worse....

Training is not really increasing - a least I don't do nothing!

The first highlight of 2007

Welcome in 2007! This year is just one week old, but the first highlight already happened. Yesterday it was time for our traditional annual New Years Concert. Compared to last years edition I was really looking forward to it because somehow I knew that we would perform very well this time. And the concert was a complete success! Until now I heard no single negative feedback but many many congratulations. For those of you who are interested in music – this was our program:

The Earl of Oxford March (William Byrd, arr. Philip Sparke)
Titanic (Stephan Jaeggi, arr. Edy Kurmann)
Jazz Suite #2 (Dmitri Shostakowich, arr. Johan de Meij)
We played all 6 pieces (March, Lyric Waltz, Dance 1, Dance 2, Waltz No 2, Finale) and were supported by an accordion.
Unter der Admiralsflagge (Julius Fucik, arr. Jan W. Singerling)

Mont Blanc (Otto M. Schwarz)
Gladiator (Hans Zimmer + Lisa Gerrard, arr. Erick Debs)
Santana, a portrait (Carlos Santana, arr. Giancarlo Gazzani)
Here my brother had a nice solo with his saxophon – he did it really well
Tiger Rag (N. La Rocca, arr. Pi Scheffer)

That was our concert. I’m really looking forward to listen to the CD we produce every year (we always make a live record). Afterwards we were invited to a restaurant for some good food and some drinks (for me it lasted till 5:30 am) *g*

Next week I have to drive to Klagenfurt for supporting the carinthian military music. Let's rock Klagenfurt.
