LAGE 000

Welcome to my very first post as a civilian! Yesterday me and my 6 colleagues dropped out of the army after spending 18 months as soldiers. Last week was dominated by less sleep due to celebrations covering most of the week. It was a really nice feeling to give back all my stuff after such a long time *g*
But of course we also had to do our job a last time (at least from Monday to Wednesday). We recorded a new CD, which is quite exhausting (for you mind) if you are tired.

What can I say about the army after 1,5 years?
Looking back I have to say that it was the best time of my life (until now). Ok - the first 8 weeks were a little bit fucked up because of the basic training but after joining the military music it was just a nice time. The number 1 highlight was our trip to Hamina (Finland) in August 2006 were we took part at the Hamina Tatoo (an international meeting of military music bands).

What comes next?
On Tuesday I got a phone call from Mr. Bamacher, the one who selects the new policemen. He told me that I will start my career as policeman on May 2nd. YES!!! Now I have to tell Sony that I will not come to the final interview next week.

During April I want to try to train hard for orienteering. The first national run will take place in 2 weeks in Fürstenfeld. My course is some 15km. Let's try to perform well!

That's it for the moment. Have a nice time! LAAAGE!!

About cars, karst terrain and jobs

Hi there!
You probably won't believe it, but this time I really have some news to write. Let's hope I'm able to write it fast and understandable...

Thing 1:
Since last weekend I'm the proud owner of a Mazda 2. Built in 02/2005 it's former owner only drove 6500 km with it. So it's almost new. 68 PS will bring me everywhere I want.
Features: CD-Player, ABS, Air Condition, summer + winter tires;
The only bad thing about this car is the fact that I'm really poor now....

Thing 2:
Last weekend I competed at the Lipica Open 2007 in Slovenia. Unfortunately I couldn't departure on Friday (like 5 team-mates) and do a nice training. I had to take car number 2 which left Salzburg on saturday 05:30 am.
Lipica Open is a two-day-event, both stages were held on the same map. Let me tell you this: Running in karst-terrain the very first time is really tough! The course of stage 1 was just 5,6km (190 climbing), but it took me incredible 73 minutes to complete the course. There were moments where I really felt like a bloody beginner! One training session before the competition wouldn't have been a fault!
I finished in 16th position (I think 30 competitors) - 25min behind the winner

I'm quite satisfied with my second run (6,7km - 235 climbing). I learned from yesterdays run and knew who to handle this terrain. I started really well, but also made 3 mistakes (control 8, 14 and 17). In finished in 6th position with a time of 62min (winner 53min). In the overall results I finished 10th.

Thing 3:
I still got no answer of the police headquarters, but on wednesday Sony Austria invited me to an interview. I was really surprised to hear from Sony so fast. I sent my application on Friday (two weeks ago) and just one week later I got the phone call. Good news!
